Hocking Block Optic (3)I tried to get a photo of this stem glowing under the black light, but couldn’t seem to manage it.  It has a bit of uranium and has a pretty colour in and out of black light.

This water goblet was made by the Hocking Glass Company, Lancaster, Ohio, from 1929-1933. The pattern is called Block Optic.

I gather that this pattern was produced in amber, crystal, pink and yellow as well as in the green.  According to Warman, production in the amber was limited, so keep you eyes peeled!

There certainly seems to have been quite a number of pieces made in this line.  It is not a dainty line – sturdy – but attractive nonetheless.

Hocking Ring Server editedEven though they are not a match, wouldn’t this goblet look nice on the table with Hocking’s server in the Ring pattern?
