Over the years I have run across this pattern – usually a single glass at a time, and generally cocktail glasses.  I have often thought that I would like to have a set of four at least.

So when I came across these four water goblets I snatched them up.  I don’t know why they are so appealing – they just are.  I think they would be pretty on a summer patio table with lemonade or ice tea in them.

I thought it would be a snap to identify them, but I had to turn to the Vintage Glass Identification Facebook Group for help.  Once I had a name I saw that these pieces were also made with yellow roses.

I suspect they were made between the 1950s and 1980s, but don’t really know for sure.

Hazel Atlas Gay Nineties whiskey (4)Isn’t this a fun little glass?  It is part of a Hazel Atlas cocktail set called “Gay Nineties”.  It came with 6 inch highball tumblers, a 13 1/4 inch metal tray, a 10 inch cocktail shaker and the whiskey Hazel Atlas Gay Nineties whiskey (2)glasses.

I like all the folks painted on the glass.  They look like they are having lots of fun!Hazel Atlas Gay Nineties whiskey (1)

001I bought this awhile ago, although I am not really sure why.  It isn’t something that I use, or really something that interests me.  Plus it takes up a bunch of space!

Having said that.  It is interesting how Heisey designed the stopper to fit into a strainer.  I guess so the ice and fruit weren’t poured out of the shaker.

I have seen these pieces with etches on them, but this one is plain.

The shape is #4225 – Cobel line (1 quart shaker).
