I picked this piece up in Florida (I think). For some reason I thought it was a piece of New Martinsville Line #4200 Radiance. But of course it is Heisey’s Empress blank.
This is what Neila Bredehoft said in her book The Collector’s Encyclopedia of Heisey Glass 1925-1938:
“Dates: 1930-1938
Colors: Moongleam, flamingo, sahara, alexandrite, tangerine, cobalt, marigold
Widely used for Heisey etches and cuttings”
Interesting comment – “Early Heisey ads also referred to it as “Lilies of France” pattern”
This piece is the 5 1/2 inch mayonnaise bowl. Notice the dolphin feet.
The silver overlay is very pretty.
